Oklahoma County Commissioners voted to use $100,000 in American Rescue Plan funds to invest in the PlaceKeepers Capstone program. Nationwide, only 2% of real estate developers are black. With rising inflation, interest rates, and construction costs black developers need more low-barrier entry points to break into the industry. In addition, our communities are in a dire attainable housing crisis. The Capstone program will not only train new developers but also provide attainable housing for our community members. We would like to thank Oklahoma County Commissioners, especially our District 1 Commissioner Carrie Blumert, for recognizing and filling the need.
